Here is a pair of rollers that I haven't encountered on a pair of EGA before. They are on a '42 dated blouse.

are they the hollow ones? if not, they look like they belong on the plastic M37s

Agree, these zinc rollers were seen on the "pot metal" emblems as well. s/f Darrell

Guys, just for clarification, this is a retaining nut, not a roller. 

 

A roller (clasp) is what you find on pinback insignia like pinback wings. It rolls to retain/lock the long pin.

The USMC APPROVED SER 362 Roller Nut and Washer

 

I am fairly certain that these are from the late 1950s.  They cam from a lot of insignia that were from a Marine that served post Korea and pre 1960

or at least I believe that he was out before 1960.....
