mortaydc60 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Share #71 Posted December 23, 2018 I am assuming most will have some free time for the holidays so wanted to provide some more patch diversion with this next set of patches. When I started collecting years ago and there were not many references or internet but there was the Officers Guide of insignia which was just a black and white couple of pages of patches available during the 1950's. Most were the usual divisions, armies and corps. However there was one that I could never find or see anywhere and that was the 1629th Eng. It probably took me 20 years to finally find one. Since the first one I was able to add several others, all from the post war Japanese period and one from the Korean War era period which I would like to share with the forum. The Korean War example will post later. Those shown on top row are rather small in size compared to average patch;the left example is silk and the right is embroidered. The bottom row are more average size for a patch both theater made with paper backs and the right is quilted. Keep your eye out for these but be prepared to open your wallet for these are not your run of the mill patch.

mortaydc60 Posted December 25, 2018 Author Share #73 Posted December 25, 2018 Continuing the presents we have the 33rd Eng. Next in line is the 34th Eng. Finally the last is the Construction Eng. Keep watching for more to follow.
CaptCav Posted December 25, 2018 Share #74 Posted December 25, 2018 #66. was worn by 2d Med Tk Bn, 13 Cav c1958-59 in Kirchgoens, Germany. The unit had been re-flagged from 709th Tk Bn in 1957. By 1961, 2/13 colors were on their way to Ft Hood, TX. The patch was sold in the GI shop, just south of the main gate. My father commanded A Co.
