Found this great photo of Micky Rooney, he's outfitted and looking like a Rifleman, don't know if this an actual photo of him in Training when he was in the Army, or if it's from a movie, the way he's looking doesn't look familiar from any movie I seen.

Ooops just did a quickie search, it's from a 1956 movie I never heard of before, a movie called The Bold and the Brave, Italy, he plays a Infantryman who's a "An inveterate gambler who runs a floating crap game up and down the Italian front" When did he find the time

Two German soldiers with a bunch of captured U.S. weapons and web gear, Luftwaffe troops (note belt buckle), Looks like Italy as Italian Camo is worn, so maybe they're from the Hermann Goering PZ Div, Anzio?

And they are saying to each other " Can't wait to post pictures of these on USMFs SPOILS OF WAR site!"

That would be the Germany based German Militaria Forum, Like " My Uncle Gerhard's American Ammuntion Belt Bring Home From Anzio"

Here is a USAF Major on exchange duty the USN. He is listed as a F-8 pilot assigned to VF-211 onboard the USS Bon Homme Richard in 1967. Notice the 4th ID patch on his left shoulder.

El Accidento

A foto that I think was taken at Fort Monmouth NJ of a GI using an AN/PRC 25. No Leaf Cover, Carbine w/ M56 LBE means circa late 50s very early 60s. It seems to indicate field or branch trials of this new radio, as Ft Monmouth being a major Signal Corps post way back when, this may be right.

Looking more like a Renegade or a Freebooter then a U.S. Army Foot Soldier, we see Spec 4 Richard Champion Co B 4th Bn 21st Inf, Americal Division during a firefight towards the middle of January 1971.

Wow what a cool photo, I forgot I had saved this photo  found it like 13-14 months ago, what happend was I named the image in a manner that made me forget I had it saved, and I just overlooked it all this time. This guy is a here, from what I recall, is a vet of the 2nd Div in Korea, taken sometime in 1979, I think he was in for three post Nam, like 73-76, 72-75, his MOS, I think Armor Reconnaissance Specialist. The metal insignia, as I remember, DIs, French Rope etc was given to a youngster in the neighbourhood, but he kept the uniform with his discs and cloth insignia, and tried it on for kicks for a photo op,or maybe he was going to march in a local Memorial or Veterans Day Parade :D .

A real cool photo of Audie L with his son on the set of To Hell and Back, love that M18 helmet, the Tricolor shield we can take was done for the movie.

The above magazine cover showing the M14 Rifle in use with the Eskimo Scouts is from May 1970 dating the actual photo to late 1969 into early 1970.

It now is apparent that this unit of the Alaska National Guard was armed with the M14 way earlier that 1969-70.

This photo below was taken at an award ceremony in Alaska. The then Governor of Alaska William Egan doing the honors, the date, February 19 1966. ;) (photo Credit seen below photo)

Second Lt Ed McCourt (right) coordinates with Bird Dog pilot Capt Bob Mathews, camera in hand, atop Northern I Corps' Rockpile in December 1966.

The birdog pilot is also carrying an MP40 which is kind of strange.

i wonder if that is Ridgways same camo ww2 helmet?

I would image it is, just seen a hell of a lot of use, with a few touch ups now and again since Sicily in 43.

Fairly common in the Marines then, we had a talk on it awhile back. I said these came from Army sources, particularly the 173rd Abn Bde on Okinawa which was where the 3rd Mar Div was co-located in 1965 before they went to the RVN in March of that year.
