KIA 506 Parachute Infantry Grouping

Here is a grouping I got some 15 years ago from the nephew of Harry G. Reichel 506th 2nd Bat. HQ. KIA January 3, 1945.

 

The core of this grouping is the Purple Heart which is missing it's ribbon.

 

There is a card given out at his memorial.

 

A photo of Harry in boot camp.

 

His Ludlow wings that have all the wing detail polished off.

 

Cloth wings which were taken off a jacket.

 

Several patches.

 

And a torn one Dollar bill that says " When you see this remember me HR ". This is not the first time I have found torn one dollar bills in someones group. A loved one would keep one half and the individual in the service would keep the other, to be joined together when returning from duty.

Real Paratrooper Hero who gave it his all for his Country and and Great Piece of History

nice honest group.........i have come across 2 of those bills in groupings,i always thought they are a great personal item...........love those wings.............dave

I photographed this group (via its owner at the time) for my book. It's a neat group.
