rrobertscv Posted December 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2007 Check out this group photo. My Uncle is the man that is on the front row far left. Check out the guy directly behind his left shoulder, wonder what his story was?
cwnorma Posted December 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2007 Check out this group photo. My Uncle is the man that is on the front row far left. Check out the guy directly behind his left shoulder, wonder what his story was? If I had to guess, I would say they were at a picnic and he had a few too many. Also, he probably was one of many soldiers who really only cared about making it through the war alive. As any First Shirt will tell you, there is at least one in every unit. Still, neat picture! rrobertscv Posted December 25, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted December 25, 2007 I'm posting these 2 photos and msg from CaptCav From 1974-1976; I commanded G Trp, 3d Armd Cav Regt at Ft. Bliss, TX. In those days, the Army had a lot of........ ahem...... "leadership issues" to deal with. Before I left command, I had a troop photo taken, in front of our M551 Sheridans. Everyone was in their class A greens. The First Sergeant duly announced that "anyone who made faces would have their fingers broken", lol. A few weeks later (when the photo came back, sure enough, several "characters" in the back row were acting out. As someone in your thread pronounced...." every unit has one" (or two, or three); and it wasn't just limited to WWII.
