marentius Posted February 15, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2012 judging by the pics it seems a quite interesting piece, heavily used and heavily modified, here the link and the pics,I am already happy for the final winner of the auction (I won't be able to take part to this financial blood bath sigh...): http://www.ebay.com/itm/150757651814?ssPag...#ht_8941wt_1037

kammo-man Posted February 15, 2012 Share #9 Posted February 15, 2012 To me IMHO this is a 100% real modified Jungle jacket in every way. If you want to learn about REAL jackets ...........well this my friends is the benchmark jacket ...... To me it has all the hall marks of an original vintage sewing job leading me to believe its a war time product . owen
marentius Posted February 15, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted February 15, 2012 O.,fully agree with you,a great piece indeed,at least from this auction I am getting a neat set of pictures of the original thing, while trying to locate on G@@gle maps the bank nearest to my office I'll pay later a visit to it with a hood on my face and a gun in my hand, let's call it an emergency funds raising.... X_redcatcher Posted February 15, 2012 Share #11 Posted February 15, 2012 while I do love this jacket and it does have all the halmarks of a "over the fence" shirt, the SF did this kind of mods for quite a while. Well there still doing them. My "Top" back in my Ft Benning days showed up in the field one day with a shirt like this one, He just said , there just like the ones he had in Nam and had one made up outside of the base. He also still wore a CCS ring on one finger too,,and I wish I could reamber his name. He always had little tips and tricks, but would only say, he learned them in Nam. It was back in the day when SOG was still not talked about much, I had a small group of SOG patches that he looked at, saw the CCS and then showed me his ring. But it was always, just "I learned it in Nam"
Spy vs Spy Posted February 15, 2012 Share #12 Posted February 15, 2012 Owen, is this a trusted seller? Would be interesting to know were he found the jacket. I have never seen a real one up front, but I would like to say this looks real to me. Will follow up on this one, can´t wait to se what last price ends up at. //Martin

kammo-man Posted February 15, 2012 Share #21 Posted February 15, 2012 Guy , When one sees an original piece one must use the force to guide you. And this is one of those pieces . Will , you are 100%correct , Hulka is a well known South Cali picker who runs in every swop meet I have ever been to . His stuff is always real. If this jacket was a spray paint job I would be seriously thinking of moving on it . owen

treetop Posted February 15, 2012 Share #23 Posted February 15, 2012 The sewing on the modifications look just like the modifications on a BDQ jacket I used to have which were done in a vietnameese tailor shop. Nice indeed
gibcity Posted February 15, 2012 Share #24 Posted February 15, 2012 Mikko, Very nice jacket you have on ebay  I have one like it but the pockets in back were off of another jungle jacket. (It looks like the four pockets of one jacket were used to add four pockets to another) Wayne
