JLENG Posted February 15, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2012 I think these wings date back to the 50's. According to the information in Navy Wings of Gold (Willis & Charmichael) these wings are presented to the honor graduate of each class. Anyone know when this practice started and if they are still being presented? I don't see a lot of these wings up for sale and would imagine they are somewhat scarce. Dave Posted February 15, 2012 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2012 I had a pair of these I picked up at the Ft Belvoir show ages ago. I sold them on ePay for a nice piece of change (IIRC, around $250, and this was in about 2004 or so...) I'll see if I can find some pics of them and post them up this evening. I think they're really cool wings and John, you know about as much about these as I know! Dave
MikeK Posted February 15, 2012 Share #5 Posted February 15, 2012 Nice to see another pair of these wings! I missed the paragraph in Wings of Gold, so thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the wings were made available to others, ie not only the honor graduate? Regards Mike
