My uniform Flight Nurse Type K-1

US Victory Museum

Bonjour, Justine.

That is a rare uniform, indeed. I recently acquired mine from fellow forum member "carbinephalen", who was

the first person to acknowledge your post on this topic. At the present time, mine is partially complete as I

refuse to remove a set of caduceus (caducei) pins from other nursing uniforms in my collection, so I am

casually perusing Ebay for the correct period with the "right look". (i.e. I hoping to come across a pair

with blue enameled N's. )

I have the K-1 flight nurse hat, as well.

Presently I'm looking for an L-1 uniform which was mostly used in the ETO.

P.S.

The flight nurse wing is original, and like the K-1 - late war. (Early ones were gold washed).

The reverse is marked "acid test" and "sterling".

I wish I had a nice mannequin to display it upon. Eventually....

Msn

P.P.S.

If you like women's uniforms, then do a search for my USMF name "US Victory Museum" under

this forum "Women's Services" for many of my old postings. I have a very large collection you

may enjoy perusing.

I give you a picture of the badge is in the pants (serial numbers).
This place has been given and I would like to find the history of women.
I do not speak and understand English at all sites and with the United States I can not.
Could someone help me?

There is a marking "Marcel" but it makes me laugh because with us it's a French name of man.

EDIT: Picture is no longer available

Time to update Justine's wonderful K-1 Flight Nurse uniform topic.

Finding myself with a surplus Flight Nurse wing (Balfour), it was only a matter of time
before I found myself looking for a place to put it. When this K-1 Flight Nurse Jacket
appeared recently on Ebay, I knew that I needed it like I needed a another hole in my
head...., but what the heck, that never stopped me before.

This a NOT a K-1 Flight SUIT, it is a K-1 Flight Blouse made exclusively for Flight Nurses.

Golly-Gee (Batman) now I need another K-1 hat and two additional K-1 trousers to have
three complete uniforms (well, and some of the insignia too.)

My other two in the collection:

One is a complete uniform, the other is just the blouse and hat.

Lucky! Great collection! I have only the pants, and bag from one individual, and desperately seeking the blouse! You look to have a wonderful collection!

Has anyone ever seen a private purchase Flight Nurse K-1? the reason I ask is that I have a friend with the jacket but it has no markings except the private manufacture which I can not remember. It had no AAF markings inside or out. Is it just a civie jacket which happens to look like the K-1 like some of the 1940's M-41? Sorry for no photo but I did not want to question the fellow. Just curious.
