Got this PH through a trade from a friend of mine.

 

Pvt. William A. Mitchell

WIA 6 September 1918

Oise-Aisne Offensive

Company B, 108th Machine Gun Battalion, 28th Division

Awarded 14 August 1939

Numbered 65,693

 

On the night of 6th-7th August 1918 the Division entered the line at the Vesle River. This sector was from Courlandon to the east to Fismes on the west. They remained there until 8 September 1918 when they were relieved by a French Division. Pvt. Mitchell was wounded two days before the the Division was relieved.

its a Sweet heart i thought about it myself !!! is this your 1st ww I heart ? :thumbsup:

 

 

I had a few WWI Purple Hearts a while ago, but sold them to focus on WWII KIA only, but I love this engraving!

I think I am going to start collecting both WWI and WWII Purple Hearts.

Did Metal Arts make Hearts with a split brooch like this, in addition to the bent slot brooch I'm used to seeing from them?
