Amphibious Task Force - Persian Gulf War

During the Persian Gulf War, the United States amassed the largest amphibious force to be deployed since Inchon. The decision to not attempt an amphibious assault limited the actual combat role of the ATF, but it was an important feature of the Coalition's overall strategy and represented a large number of the deployed personnel in the combat theater (34,000). Following is a complete list of the 31 ships that comprised the ATF. Afterwards is a partial list of embarked units (both Navy and Marines) that deployed aboard these ships. I welcome any additions to the list of deployed units, as well as any other input, such as significant events and casualties.
