phfr Posted November 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2011 I just picked this up today and I thought I would post it. This is the rarer pattern with the brass loops on the back. Your typical cartridge box plate was made with iron loops that are normally rusted away on dug examples. These loops are brass and have held up to the elements quite well. There are actually two patterns of brass looped cartridge box plates. The example pictured has the small loops while some early war Ohio camps have boxplates with large loops.
