BOB K. RKSS Posted November 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2007 Thought You'd all enjoy a topic on U.S. ISSUE CAMO "Jungle" HATS. Here's one from My collection; with DSA number Dated 1969, & old FSN number just below it.
Greg Robinson Posted November 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2007 I have a boonie hat just like Bob's but made of rip stop fabric. Nomenclature is HAT, CAMOUFLAGE (TROPICAL COMBAT), TYPE II. It has a DSA-100-68 contract prefix and Federal Stock Number.
notinfringed Posted November 22, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2007 Check out the "camoflage boonie hat" topic in the uniform section for more similar hats. Not Identical, but similar. Levi
Greg Robinson Posted November 22, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2007 The boonie hats that are impossible to find anymore are the OD ones, especially the ones made before they went to rip stop fabric. Even the post Nam OD boonie hats are scarce nowadays. I own one dated 1980. When the guys came home from Viete Nam their boonie hats were prized possessions and they got worn and used up. earlymb Posted November 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 23, 2007 This is a pic of the plastic wrapping of one of my hats. It is 1968 dated and of ripstop fabric. Greetz David
