Hey Guys,
My Dad was digging through some old stuff he had put back years ago and came across this great USMC sniper case, but of course no scope. Anyway thought you might enjoy seeing something that can come out of your "own woodwork". I am interested in matching this case up with a scope if someone needs.
Enjoy,
Tyler

Be aware of what you are offering for sale. Those cases are worth a small fortune. Don't let it go without checking prices.

Craig, Thanks for the heads up. I was doing a little research and had seen some prices that were surprising and nice to learn. I am interested in what it might bring. I do not know how often they come up.
Well,
Thanks again,
Tyler

I don't follow them to know any history of sales but I do know they are fairly rare. Your's is in great condition too. The poor economy may hurt sales but hopefully you can get top dollar.

It is a Micarta can for Unertl 8X Sniper scope. They are not particularly rare, the metal can is rare. Scarce, yes, especially if they are not cracked. The scope and can have sold for well over $5,000. What is rare, is an original M1903/A1 USMC Sniper Rifle. 99 of 100 are fakes. I have owned three of the rifles in my time and several scopes and cans. I can tell you, an original documented rifle and scope are worth at least $27,500, because that is what I sold my documented rifle for. Your can will bring big $$$ to a person with a scope. I checked worthpoint.com which shows completed ebay sales going back several years. The last scope case to sell was in 2008 and it went for about $800. A few of the scopes have sold in the past year in the $4,000-5,000 range and one of those didn't have a case. If I had this I'd put it on ebay for $1,100 or best offer.

Well, just an update on the Scope case. Over the past few weeks we had some offers at shows, and from Ebay members that I contacted, that ranged from $900-1150 but we held out and it brought $1300. I do not know if it is just one of those deals where the guy really needed it or what but that is what it brought. So if you have one I would say that these cases are in a strong $1100 range with the potential for a little more depending on the buyer. Hope this info helps out someone who finds one of these map cases, HAHA. I am just glad we still have one left.

Tyler,

I've only just noticed this topic and I'm glad you got a good price for the scope case. They certainly are a rare piece! Thanks for posting this
