LTGSANCHEZ Posted November 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2007 Anyone seen this knife before, know what it is? I picked it up today at a pawn shop with the linemans knife above.
dustin Posted November 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 11, 2007 Sanchez, a really good book on pocket knives that you should get and covers all the basics on military pocket knives by Mike Silvey POCKET KNIVES of the UNITED STATES MILITARY It is a great guide! doyler Posted November 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 16, 2007 Lt, I would have to say that both knives are for Lineman.I work for a electric company and see this style of knife.Linemen often carry it in the pouch attached to the climbing belt .The blade is a sheeps foots pattern named so because of the curve of the blade. This style of knife is use to strip/cut the heavy sheathing from electric cable. You need a knife with a thick blade and a defined point when striping and splicing cable. There are some variations of the knife. Some are folders like yours others are a one piece with molded or rivited handle.Try to search or google Lineman knives or Klien Tools.I know we have a catalog at work from an outfit called Far West Supply and it shows some of the current makers and styles.Hope this helps, RON
