D.A.T. Posted October 13, 2011 Author Share #27 Posted October 13, 2011 Just recieved a newsletter on "Die Farbe". If any of you are following this thread, it's not about me, it's about the movie, I had only a small roll in it, not that anyone thinks ol' DAT's trying to take the credit for the movie for himself, I'm not, just glad that it didn't turn out to be a complete flop. Like I've stated before, it's just for Sci-Fi freaks, and I don't think it'll get an Oscar, be nice though. The Newsletter; FARBE AWARDED At the Fantastisk Filmfestival in Lund, Sweden we didn't receive the Melies d'Argent (sorta European Academy Award for genre films, not that we'd have a chance competing with "Attack the Block"), but there were many guests at the screening and there was very positive feedback according to the festival organizers. Our little US trip was a much bigger success in comparison - "Die Farbe" was screened in Portland, Oregon in a sold-out theatre (around 450 guests), some even had to be sent home since they came too late to get tickets in time. And some days later, after arrival back home in Germany, we found out that we were awarded at the Big Bear Horro-Fi Festival that took place 2 car hours east of Los Angeles on the very same week-end. We received four awards: Outstanding International Feature, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Cast smf Outstanding Sound Editing In the jury you could find one of the producers of "X-Men", "Battlestar Galactica" und "Transformers" as well as a two time Oscar nominated makeup artists, who had worked for the "Star Trek" series and movies. We are very excited and are looking forward to the trophies they want to send us (will it be golden teddy bears with red glowing eyes?) It isn't easy with our film, you know. For most arthouse festivals it is too dark, for most horror film festivals it isn't gory enough, too much arthouse. But still there are some interesting willing festivals left: This month we will export our vision to Latin America (Mexico, Uruguay, Puerto Rico) and after that the Colour will ooze back to its homelands to breed there again (Halloween screening in Aalen, Fright Nights in Vienna, Heimatspiel Filmfest in Regensburg). Let's see what future has in store, keep your fingers crossed!

D.A.T. Posted November 14, 2012 Author Share #41 Posted November 14, 2012 Another good review, but like the man say's, the film is only for the serious H.P. Lovecraft fans. The Color Out of Space (2010) Review by Stiff Magazine’s Dave Harlequin « Cinema Slasher Overall, The Color Out Of Space is one of the best film adaptations of HP Lovecraft to ever grace the silver screen… and absolutely the best film adaptation of this particular story. While the slow-pacing and artistic style of the film may turn away a lot of casual viewers, it’s clear that this film was made specifically for the serious Lovecraft faithful. Certainly not for everyone (like anything Lovecraft ever is), however highly recommended for fans of HP Lovecraft, classic sci-fi/horror, film noir, and hardcore film geeks of all types. It’s an absolute artistic masterpiece. Lovecraft would be proud!
