gwb123 Posted October 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2007 Folks, Just got back from Disney World in Florida and snapped this pic the Disney Museum at MGM. Enjoy !! Okay... if you like that, you will love the following story. Walt was stationed as an Ambulance driver late in the war and after the Armistice. Documented in his biography is that in order to earn some extra spending money he took ordinary German helmets and painted "machine gun camouflage" patterns on them. These were then sold to the train loads of returning troops as souvenirs. Even back then the painted ones were worth more. So the question is this.... if you found such a helmet and could prove it had been painted by Walt Disney, would it be worth more as a somewhat altered helment or a Disney collectible?
