Charlie Flick Posted October 13, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 13, 2007 I have a Dix fighting knife that came in an M-8 scabbard. It is a smaller version of an M-3. How rare are they and how much are they worth? Hi Ron: The Dix blades are interesting, and thus valuable, to collectors of US blades as private purchase knives. While not rare, in my estimation that would be classified as scarce in nice condition. Is your example the single or double edge, with the flat pommel or the birds-head shaped pommel? The Dix blades originally came with a brown leather sheath, so the M8 is a later addition for your knife. Posting pics is always helpful in determining value as the range can be very broad. HTH.
