Manchu Warrior Posted October 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2007 I found this Newsmap poster of an Airborne drop during Operation Uppercut in Southern France stuck between some books in a thrift store. I did a little, a very little, bit of research and could not find much information on this operation. But what a great shot. I was mechanized infantry on active duty and I look at this photo and I ask the question, "How did the paratroopers not kill each other on the way to the ground in all that clutter?" It is amazing. The poster is 3' by 4' and maybe someday I will frame the poster and hang it on a wall. Yeah, like that will ever happen. If anyone can tell me what units were involved in this operation it would be appreciated. Have a good one.
