Proud Kraut Posted April 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2011 Western front, on an early morning in 1944. Somewhere in the no man's land an 82nd Airborne Division Reconnaissance team has occupied an assembly area after the return from a night recce mission. The soldiers are making their daily morning toilet. Suddenly the street awakes. An Infantry squad advances to the front. Another Jeep drives down the road. General Patton supervises the advance of his troops. Catching sight of the Recce team, he tells his driver to stop the Jeep and leaves the car... Proud Kraut Posted April 9, 2011 Author Share #2 Posted April 9, 2011 That's my second dio after "Occupy that bridge". The Army Jeep is one of my favourite military vehicles. While doing a little research about General Patton I found pictures of his Jeep, representing his...uhm...special caracter. The idea for a "Patton's Jeep diorama" was born. I never expected to find so many Jeep conversion kits in 1/35 scale. Each kit I purchased lead to the next one etc. etc. Finally I purchased a dozenof kits and conversion sets to build different Jeep variants. Proud Kraut Posted April 9, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted April 9, 2011 The diorama base was already built, when I found it last year. I added the ruin, some details, improved the painting and, of course the figures and Jeeps that I built over the last months.

Proud Kraut Posted April 9, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2011 The Infantry squad was made of two "customized" sets of Dragon's " US Infantry 2nd Armor Div Normandy 1944“ figure kit. Seeing the pictures you might have noticed, that this dio is still under construction. The soldiers need, among better equipment, at least a patch. Which unit under command & control of Patton's 3rd Army could meet 82nd AD elements in late 1944? I'm sure, it won't take long to find the answer here. .
