Hi
just picked these up and cant determine if they are civil war or postwar
maybe even cadet school or possibly confederate my reseach came up short ??

They certainly look like military school chevrons. In my opinion they are not Civil War era and most likely post-1900.

These are all military academy chevrons, but appear to be old. West Point, The Citidal, VMI and many others have used this type elongated chevrons. Most have the stripes joined at the end with a vertical tie. Two stripes were usually worn by Corporals if on the lower sleeve and Sergeants if worn above the elbow. I'd speculate the one with the old infantry post horn would be worn by a bugler or other musician.
