"BATTLE STATIONS! YOUR NAVY IN ACTION" came out in 1946 and I have scanned the entire book, 808-pages which you can download for FREE at: http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email and read and see this highly interesting book and see the many pictures in it, some in colour too! As it came out the year after World War Two ended, did not get the circulation it would have gotten earlier, but this does not take away from its value and historic significance, nonetheless! I've scanned and up-loaded almost 400 electronic-books for you to down-load for FREE! More added every day or until I run out of rarer and hard-ton-find books, whichever comes first? You cannot go wrong as it will cost you nothing except for a blank CD to fill up and view again and again at your convenience! Tell a friend, tell the neighbors, tell the in-laws, tell it to a Marine! Happy Trails Til We Meet Again! Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected]) :w00t:

"GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS! Four hundred and sixty-one (461) scanned e-book uploaded at http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email and it grows larger each and every day as I scan more booklets, books, catalogues, pamphlets, etc., just added the section on "UNIFORMS" from the 1926 Encyclopaedia Britannia and have hundreds more books to scan and upload, check it out! The price is right! It is absolutely free and you can start your own CD library of militaria. I do this for other collectors and hope they will go there and use the web library on a regular basis and tell them acquaintences, friends, and relative and strangers as well! Respectfully yours, Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected])

SEMPER FI! Wishing one and all a very safe and sound holiday season and happy hunting in collecting militaria (and naval)! Will try to add to the free web library at http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email and keep going a step and a time. I checked the sections on FANS and it seems most are women? I showed an 1809 Repository of Arts that showed period funriture, women's dresses, etc., must have struck a cord there or perhaps they see me as their favourite old grandfather? Who knows? When I was young and rode the public bus, women seldom sat next to me and now I am the first person they sit with, guess I look tame now? I'll be 70 in two years, God willing? If you go to eBay, you'll see sellers want more for their old militaria pamhlets, catalogues, brochures, booklets, etc., someone had the 1869 U.S.Navy uniform regulations which was 12 plates showing the uniforms and insignia and 12 pages of text, less than 25-pages and they asked for US$500 for the book and it remained un-sold, no surprise! I found a black and white copy of the colour plates and hand-coloured it in and then scanned that! Was happy to find uniform regs for USMC add also! Respectfully yours, Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected]) :)

"GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Am happy to report that there are now five hundred and fifty-five electronic books at "Booker's Free Web Library" at http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email waiting for you good folks to download and even put them on a CD to keep for yourselves or to give, trade or sell to others. Tell everyone who is interested in militaria to see the website and make a day - a week - or longer of it going through a real collector's reference treasure trove! Nothing there costs a cent, get scans that are really hard-to-find else where and not as clear and sharp in details and vivid colours! This is a "win-win" situation and no one loses! "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" eBay was kind to me when I bid upon a booklet titled "The Brave American Boy" from 1898 about a young boy who was a midshipman who is heroic and offered a reward of a golden medal, a watch, or a sword, but the lad asked for "A Mrs. Hopkins Suit!" Mrs.Jane Hopkins Boys' Clothes were popular in Dallas, Texas at the time when they issued a patriotic booklet to inspire young people during the Spanish-American War. Below is the cover of the booklet and it is in colour too! I have the entire booklet scanned at: http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email that you can view it there larger and can download it and 555 books from there. I was surprised when no one bid against me and got it for under US$10.00, believe it or not? Sometimes you need to observe what you see and not let it pass if you can get it at a reasonable bid. Many of the booklets, catalogues, magazines, pamphlets, etc., that you see at the FREE WEB LIBRARY came from winning eBay bids, believe it or not? Children's books on the military and naval should not be ignored as the art is often very well done. Brochures, ink blotters, etc., on eBay are being priced higher by sellers who hope to get more and often their stuff goes without a bid on the item. Soimetime you can make them an offer and get them to come down below the clouds of unreality, sometimes not! An 1869 United States Navy Uniform Regulations was about 12 pages of text and 12 plates, 3 in colour and the remainder in B&W and the seller started at US$500.00 and no one bid! The 1886 U.S.N. uniform regs sold for US$500.00 and the person bought it still has it, probably will not get the price he paid? You can find the 1883, 1886, and 1897 and other U.S.N. uniform regs at the FREE WEB LIBRARY at no cost! Happy New Year 2011! Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected]) :w00t:

Thanks again Sarge, your taking the time to aquire and scan all these publications has helped me in so many ways when I do the research for my military uniform illustrations! So many collectors are stingy and unwilling to share their collections with anyone else. It's refreshing to see you do the opposite!

Dear Jersey Gary: Thank you very much! Six hundred and thirty-three entries at http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email now and more being added like these First World War picture postcards. Have posted over 3,000 postcard images already and several thousand more to go yet, believe it or not? Some people do not post their images of their collections out of concern of letting others know what they possess and maybe having a neighborhood burglar take them while they are away from their home like what happened to a police detective sergeant we knew who lost all of his Second World War luftwaffe collection that had lots of their paratrooper items like parachutes, etc.! On the other hand, gave away 90% of my own collection that I photographed first and no need to worry about the neighborhood burglar breaking and entering the premises. In the past I collected and then gave away the entire collections at least six times and oddly enough the recipients quit writing when I had more to contribute to their own collections. Collected to acquire and take pictures and no longer needed the militaria items. I collect photographs, drawings, booklets, etc., then scan the images and show them here and at my free web library. Also in photo albums at http://community.webshots.com/user/eneryhodge and also at http://community.webshots.com/user/hhbooker2 and /user/clovis_lee_booker and /user/hhbooker too! Good to hear from you, Jersey Gary! Respectfully yours, Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected])

JACK: You're welcome, hope more people will stop and visit http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email (Booker's Free Web Library) as there are 702 albums there now that anyone can download and use however they wish. If they sell on eBay Auctions, I encourage them to market CDs of the stuff I placed there during these trying times when there is hyperinflation of the U.S. Dollar. As for me, I'm retired and do not need to earn more money and if fact I give my surplus money away to family and friends as well as the books I scan and then give away as I no longer have need of them. In fact I go to eBay Auctions bid on militaria books and if I win them, I scan them right away and share those images and then see who to give the book out to that really wants it and needs it! Write: [email protected] Respectfully yours, Sarge Booker of Tujunga (Herbert Hillary Booker 2nd)

"GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Right now I have 817 albums on booklets, photographs, pictures, etc., of military and naval insignia and uniforms free downloads at http://picasaweb.google.com/booker1942?feat=email (Booker's Free Web Library). I have been adding Liebig chromolithographic trading cards, many with a military and naval theme from the 1880s to the 1920s; these are sets of six cards each beautifully illustrated that customers of Oxo Meat Extract got with the food products. After more than 100 years the company folded, sad to say! You can see some of the 4,500+ PDF books and pictures I have at http://www.scribd.com/ and 2 to 3,000 scanned books at http://www.archive.org/ Many others have published their PDF books there, go there for whatever you want to reserach, you cannot miss and its free! Instead of trying to get rarer costly books, see if they are available free, makes sense! Http://community.webshots.com/user/hhbooker2 & http://community.webshots.com/user/eneryhodge & http://community.webshots.com/user/clovis_lee_booker & http://community.webshots.com/user/hhbooker (NOTA BENE: Please check all of these websites daily!)
