Greetings all,

This past weekend I found a couple pieces of body armor. I posted the other vest separate.

The first is one I'm familiar with, the Frag Vest with 3/4 Collar. This one has a 1969 contract date with the zipper and cover flap with snaps. It has a small snag on the back, near the collar. The zipper bail/thong is missing but the zipper still works fine.

Cool. I have one just like it, pretty clean, maybe a bit more "issued" than yours. What did you have to give, if you don't mind?

This one cost me $40.

I found another last month in near unissued condition with the velcro closing front for $45. It is 1970 contract dated.

We used to be issued those so dirty and greasy the necks were black. Top had us take them into the shower and scrub the hell out of the covers.

Biggest problem I found was the "Armor" bunching on itself. Usually had to feel around to flatten it and sleep with it under the mattress once or twice to give it memory.

$40 is a very reasonable price for a M69 vest in VG - EXC condition, add another $20 + for shipping if you buy one from ebay

you can use the wire zipper piece and cotton pull tab from a M65 field jacket to fix your vest

Thanks. I was wondering if they were compatible. I just didn't have a jacket out right now to compare. Maybe I'll find a ratty tattered one somewhere that I can get a zipper off of.
