Cherokee Posted September 22, 2013 Share #27 Posted September 22, 2013 This is an outstanding compilation and very helpful to me! Thank you for creating it. I am also trying to compile a grouping of patches with OD borders (with and without greenback) Can anyone help me with a list of known OD border patches? Insigina Hunter Posted September 23, 2013 Share #28 Posted September 23, 2013 This is an outstanding compilation and very helpful to me! Thank you for creating it. I am also trying to compile a grouping of patches with OD borders (with and without greenback) Can anyone help me with a list of known OD border patches? Sounds exactly like what I am trying to do, good luck. There are some I am not sure exist at all, trying to prove or disprove the existence of those is very hard to do. philliephanatic Posted March 13, 2014 Share #36 Posted March 13, 2014 I was lucky to find that Second Army Square Greenback. I didn't know it was a greenback until I received the lot. I broke my rule about never buying unless I can see the backs but enough of the patches in the lot looked good so I took a chance and that one was what I received. Here is one that Worldwarpatches missed. It was a lot of all 5 of the Specialist patches with greenbacks. Most AAF Weather Specialist patches have the arrow facing to the right side. I got this one in a lot that he sold me and it is facing to the left. I didn't realize it either until I received the lot and was looking to see which ones I needed. I think it is hard to find like this because I haven't seen another and I have seen a couple with the arrow facing the right side of the patch. philliephanatic Posted March 13, 2014 Share #37 Posted March 13, 2014 Here is one facing right with a partial greenback. I will add a few more that I don't see on this post when I have some time. I only have a couple more that aren't shown.
Insigina Hunter Posted March 16, 2014 Share #38 Posted March 16, 2014 Phillie I will take that square top and reverse weather vane when/if ever you decide to part! (Which I have a feeling is never ) Happy and sad at the same time ... A new patch to be on the hunt for. Can't wait to see the other you have not listed here I may have one or to more myself just need to do a little digging.

Proud Kraut Posted December 12, 2014 Share #44 Posted December 12, 2014 One of the few I kept and one of the very few postwar German made greenbacks. This particular patch is depicted in Hans de Bree's fantastic patch book/collector's guide.

respectingthesacrifice Posted January 7, 2015 Share #48 Posted January 7, 2015 Two questions about greenbacks: Among Infantry divisions which ones are the hardest to find? And which ones are the most common? Thanks in advance for your answer
warcollect1942 Posted January 8, 2015 Share #49 Posted January 8, 2015 The hardest would be the 42nd division. The 101st white tongue with tab and the 79th.
