My wife's uncle was assigned to the 418BS, 100BG in England in 1943. He was flying as part of the Atchison crew on the 10 October 1943 mission to Munster when his aircraft was shot down. He was missing in action until the end of the war when his body was found buried in the Ost Bevern town cemetery near where the paircraft came down.

I am trying to find info, particularly any photos, that might exist of either their own aircraft, B-17F "Terry n' Ten" 42-30062, LD-O or the aircrqft they were flying on the Munster raid. B-17F 42-30047 "Sweater Girl" LN-Q. I am particularly interested in any photographic record of any nose art or other markings that might have been on either aircraft.

Hello! Have you checked out the 100th BG website? Its pretty extensive and has lots of photos and info. - A quick check shows that "Sweater Girl" A/C # 42-30047 was actually an aircraft in the 350th BS not the 418th. Also, 418th A/C # 42-30062 "Terry N Ten" was also known as "Reilly's Racehorse" and "Bastards Bungalow". You can search all these aircraft names in the site using their search engine you can find a few photos and much info. Good luck, hope this helps. The 100th in a great outfit, I had a good friend who was a Lead Navigator in the 351st during the war
