cpatrick Posted September 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2007 Here's a nice, salty double patched M43 field jacket. The sleeves feature a nice set of Staff Sgt stripes, having been machine sewn. One sleeve features a theater made CBI patch, while the other features a unique, theater made AAF patch. It's too bad that it is in such poor condition. Before people jump on this jacket, wondering why the CBI patch is in much better condition that the AAF patch, the reason is evident in its construction. The AAF patch has a pretty loose weave, and just is not as nicely made as the CBI patch. This resulted in this patch not holding up as well. Another interesting thing about this jacket is the fact that the hood doesn't quite match the color of the jacket. So often people will look forever for a perfectly matching hood for their M43. The reality is, often times they did not match, as is the case here. Best of all, this was a garage sale find a couple of years ago. I paid $35, which was high for a garage sale...
