I believe this is from the early 1900s. I would be interested in hearing comments on the uniforms (what there is of them) and headgear being worn. Also I would like to hear some opinions on where this photo may have been taken. Thanks!

The fore & aft campaign cover was obsolete by 1914... I'm sure there was wear beyond that time. As for location, my guess is the Philippines think.gif

Interesting that the Marine kneeling lower left has a hatcord on his campaign hat. You can see the acorns. Somehow I can't picture an Officer of the period dressed down and wearing a teashirt with cutoff sleeves, so I'm guessing it is a specialty cord as opposed to an Officer cord. I know some Marines associated with artillery detachments in some instances took to wearing red hatcords. Hard to tell. Nice photo!
